Pictures of Mets Hall of Fame and Museum: Uniform Display

In the Mets Hall of Fame and Museum you’ll come across a display of all the uniforms the Mets have worn throughout the years (main designs, nothing from Mercury or Civil Rights games or such).

The curator is my kind of guy.  Look what was chosen to represent the blue – yes, that’s a Ron Hodges jersey.  No, I’m not being sarcastic about Hodges like I usually do – this actually is a Ron Hodges jersey.  That’s awesomely funny.

By the way, the “Dodgers” thing is over.  There’s so much Mets stuff now that you feel great that they also mention Brooklyn and honor Jackie Robinson.  My kid asked “who is that?” about the man in the rotunda.  He also asked twice about Casey Stengel.

As you may have noticed, I like Mets jerseys.  Here’s some more photos:

  1. Wow, how awful do the black jerseys look in comparison? Including the white with the black drop-shadowing. Just terrible and gaudy. Time to go back to the originals.

  2. Another Mets error (and the Mets Police get a mention & link to Shannon’s pic)? from todays UniWatch comments

“I was looking at the photos of the new Mets Hall of Fame and Museum and found an error on one of the displays. In this link from Mets Police

the script says that in 1978 the Mets switched from flannel to double knit uniforms. Of course, the Mets switched to double knits in 1972 (as noted by Sandy Koufax on NBC’s coverage of Opening Day that year). What the museum script should have stated was that in 1978, the Mets switched from button down jerseys to pull overs with two buttons on top. Having gotten this off my chest, I can now begin my work week.”
