So you want Citi Field All Star Game tickets…

I don’t think any of us know-know anything yet, and I’m sure I will hear from the Mets, but to start a discussion..

Gary wrote: “During the game, after they announced that the Mets got the ASG, they said that STHs who wanted to go should contact their dedicated season ticket reps tomorrow (Thursday). Hope those of us who had (a departed employee)as our rep don’t get lost in the shuffle… because we never received word on who our new rep is – okay, at least *I* never did.”

Well let’s see what my friend Dave Howard told the Wall Street Journal

Howard said all full-season ticket holders and luxury suite holders will have a chance to buy at least one strip of tickets per seat for all three days of events. The team is also planning to make additional tickets available to full- and partial-plan holders who commit early for 2013.

That suggests Faith Will Be Rewarded. I don’t want to get everyone all excited but it was enough for me to decide to reach out to my guy today. I said in April I’d renew my seats now.

..

I’m confident there will be much more about this for the next 14 months. The logo of the next game usually appears at the end of the All Star Game so expect to see the logo by Mid July.

Mediagoon speculates, probably correctly, we will see blue and orange all star jerseys. Is vote for giving National the blue. I also hope they use road font.

Will ASG patches replace the 50th on the caps, jerseys and the fence? I would guess yes. From what I understand about MLB rules the 2013 jersey designs are due around now, so perhaps something will leak.

  1. A friend was a Yankee STH when they had the ASG. From what I understood, it was an all or nothing package in order to get ASG tickets. The package included HR Derby, Celebrity Softball games, ASG AND passes to the fanfest as well as a program for each seat included. There were a few problems according to him. The Celebrity Softball game tickets were more expensive then a regular season game and it was near impossible to sell on the secondary market. The price of the programs were ridiculous and if you were spending time going to any of the festivities at the stadium it was tough to justify going to the fanfest.

From his perspective, there was a lot of wasted money going into getting the ASG tickets because he couldn’t really sell the parts of the plan he didn’t want.
