  1. Funny. I don’t remember fans owning jerseys then. Did they? When did that start? I remember at one point – don’t remember what year – talking to a friend of mine about the fact that a lot of hockey fans wore replica jerseys, but baseball & football fans didn’t. They just wore regular tee shirts & sweatshirts with their team’s logo.

    1. Fan jerseys is a pretty new thing. Believe me I would have some from the 80s if they existed. You would have needed a game used one…but pre eBay how would you even find one?
In the 90s there were crappy “Modell’s” jersey-like things but nothing like what we had now.

You could have gone to Cosby’s and ordered an authentic but I remember them being way beyond my price range.

  2. They sold replicas Jerseys in the early 80’s. I gotone at a sring training game from what I rememeber as a kid (around 83). It was a v neck pullover jersey with rings around the arm. Like the early 80’s style.

I will send a pic to Shannon in the next 2 weeks. Its at my mothers in Florida and I will bring it back toNY with me. With some other Mets stuff I Have down there.

    DAve.
