I’m oddly not excited for 1986 weekend

I’m struggling to get excited about this weekend.

A few years ago when the Mets inducted some 86ers into the Mets Hall of Fame, I dragged my family there and had a great time. I even yelled at you guys for not selling this place out. (This was a time before t-shirtism had solidified as a cult.)

This year, i dunno. It’s cool. It’s great. Looks like the Mets are doing a good job. But my mind is more on a long weekend and I have zero interest in going.

Is it my lack of love for Citi Field?

Is it the two bridges?

Sunday night baseball?

The seemingly lack of SNY coverage? (I can’t get an answer on this but the TV listings suggest we’re on our own.)

Is it the way the mainstream media will swoop in and act like big Mets fans for three days to look cool?

Maybe all of these.

I don’t like the way I feel, and I am no way trying to discount your enjoyment of the weekend, but I’m just not feeing it. You?
