A guy named Fred bid on some Mets Memorabilia

I am told that on the Marlins’ broadcast last night they were doing some sort of auction/charity/telethon thing.

My twitter feed seems annoyed that Marlins Man bid on things or that Marlins Man even exists, but what caught my eye was the name of the guy bidding on the Mets stuff.

My guess, and it’s just a  guess, is that Fred Wilpon was walking around the rotunda and noticed that there wasn’t any Mets stuff.  he asked the staff and then was horrified that the Mets had sold off a lot of cool things like the Piazza bat.  So he is now on a mission to acquire Mets Memorabilia.  That’s my guess, it may be completely inaccurate.

Also I was the winning bid for “Marlins Minor League Affiliates” – I threw $3500 at it and now own 3 minor league baseball teams.  I will be changing the names to

New Orleans Zephyrs (formerly Baby Cakes formerly Zephyrs)

Jacksonville Suns (formerly Jumbo Shrimp formerly Suns)

and the Jupiter Pirates (formerly Hammerheads)
