Congrats to Daniel Murphy on being named the starting second baseman in the All Star Game, his third time as an All Star which I believe is three more than Ike Davis, Jordan Valdespin, Brad Emaus and Dilson Herrera combined. Oh wait they have zero combined. Hold on I am being passed a note…..
…oh sorry, seems the Mets let Murph walk away two years ago and he is on the first place Nationals who have a 9.5 game lead as we head into today’s series. The Mets are 5 games under .500
Congratulations to Mets All Star Michael Conforto!
SLACKISH REACTION: the Mets lost on Montero Day. That is all.
GARY COHEN SLEEP WATCH: Tough haul for Gary Cohen who wrapped up work around 4:30 yesterday and had to commute all the way to Washington DC. With a 6pm start he probably had to be at the park around three….figure he didn’t get to DC until 5 minutes ago….wait until he finds out about tomorrow’s 11am game.
The newspaper says Montero could stick in the rotation. Someone has to pitch.
Nice day for the beach. Enjoy.
