Crowd Shots for Game 2

Believe it or not folks, our el capitan of LOS METS POLICE (you all know why I did that), Shannon Shark is actually doing some leg work around Citi today and is on crowd shot duty.

He keeps saying that its his inferior camera that makes his pics look bad, I see its the inferior photographer behind the lens. He is there with MP Jr. today and I said he should give the kid the camera because he shoots pics much better then his dad.

Anyway thanks to @metspolice for sending in these pics to his site.

Giveaway hat the MP Jr. had to fill out a survey to Chevy for.

Maybe one day Shannon will Man Up and get a better cell phone service provider.

Oh and buy the Man Up shirts.

Update: Shannon just sent this to me.

1st pitch crowd.

News: Wilpons win one

I don’t understand this stuff at all, but in attempt to balance out my giving the Wilpons grief with also highlighting their successes…from the News…

In what is considered a victory for Mets owners Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz – who are being sued for $1 billion by the trustee overseeing the Bernie Madoff collapsed Ponzi scheme – U.S. District Court Judge Jed Rakoff Friday ruled that the contentious suit be moved from bankruptcy court into federal court in the Southern District of New York.

New Stadiums Foul Out With Merchants – WSJ.com

I will have to ask Media Goon (he can be found eating dinner at Donovan’s at least 7 nights a week, sometimes eight, about this.  I know a few Mets fans will sometimes pop in, but is a bar on 58th street and Roosevelt really affected by a Shake Shack 65 blocks away?  Not sure I buy this argument.

“We’re still doing business but it’s not how it used to be,” said Jack Donovan, manager at Donovan’s, which opened in 1966. “We still have old-timers stop by for burgers and beers before they run down to the game, but the new restaurants in Citi Field are definitely taking away some of our business.”

Mets thoughts about a Subway Series Saturday and Kenny Rogers

I’m tempted to sell my tickets for today’s game, but Junior really wants to go…It’s the old “sell one game and pay for half they year” vs. “make your son happy” and I think I will pick son this time.  It’s a nice summer day and the place should be electric…nice father and son time.  I’m heading out there early and hoping that AT&T can handle 40,020 people making calls.

If YOU need tickets you may find a bargain here on Mets Police Tickets.  (In general it’s worth it to follow Mets Police Tickets on Facebook, and the regular Mets Police On Facebook feed.)

Stars and Stripes jersey for me today…I have to go find some crappy casino caps to trade in for the Cap Trade.

The .500 Mets are 10.5 out in the east.  Double digits is usually a warning sign that it ain’t happening.  I know many of you are fantasizing about the Wild Card.  The Mets are in 6th place, 6.5 back (and those teams all play each other etc.)

Which leads us to a song, which I hope Sandy Alderson has heard.

You’ve got to know when to hold ’em
Know when to fold ’em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run
You never count your money
When you’re sittin’ at the table
There’ll be time enough for countin’
When the dealin’s done

Every gambler knows
That the secret to survivin’
Is knowin’ what to throw away
And knowin’ what to keep
‘Cause every hand’s a winner
And every hand’s a loser
And the best that you can hope for
Is to die in your sleep

I’d like to thank the Mets for what has been a great summer so far.  I’ve really enjoyed this season.  However June has become July and it’s time to stop lying to yourself.    Optimism is not a sin, but your overconfidence is your weakness.  Search your feelings, you know it to be true. *

* – none of that is meant to be a shot at Ceetar.  I’d actually love to convince Ceetar to write for MP…but I needed to work in Star Wars quotes and that was my easiest route.

Oh, and STOP USING K-ROD TO FINISH GAMES THAT AREN’T SAVES.  Are you guys INSANE????
