Good morning Mets fans,
I want to talk about the topics that I choose NOT to write about.
If you make the internet rounds this morning (or you may be a twitterholic like me and saw this story yesterday afternoon) you’ll see something about a 1986 Met and a salacious headline.
This morning the story got more absurd as a seemingly out of control celebrity got involved.
That’s not the stuff I want to get into here.
While it is lots of fun to joust with Dave about obstructed views, or to discuss uniform schemes 50 times a day, the site is not about trying to make the Mets look bad.
Yeah I enjoy the soap opera, and there’s always a new story line (let’s hope today’s storyline is “all 25 Mets show up at Walter Reed) but the goal is actually to help create Metstopia in conjunction with our favorite franchise.
Sometimes I feel like I “have to” post something – say a former Met is pulled over for suspected DUI with kids in the car. That’s too high profile to ignore. On the flip side, I don’t care what 1969 Mets do in the bedroom, and I don’t want to contribute to the chaos surrounding the 1986 Mets player in today’s headline.
I’d rather focus on a charismatic home grown team (check), dressed nicely (thought we had it), winning the World Series (I’ll get back to you on that).
