What happens when a Mets 15-game-planner asks about the 17-flexpack

This came into the commenting section from a new commenter named Roger (welcome Roger).  I have not verified any of this information, and we haven’t all gotten to know Roger yet, thus use it at your own risk….but I thought it was pretty interesting and I know if  post three silly videos in a row I will catch grief.  So here’s a “real” post.

According to Roger:

Tip for Mets fans out there like me who already bought a 15 game ticket plan before the flex packs were offered – I had purchased two Saturday plus packages in the promenade reserved – after all fees, etc – the total price tag was $677. When the flex plans came out, I saw that had I waited just another 10 days, for $720 I could have gotten the 17+1 flex plan (which when you broke it out came to one extra marquee game and two extra value games for $43 bucks – a no-brainer even if it just meant getting an extra Yankee game and putting the tickets on stubhub). Just call the ticket office and they’ll switch your plan over for you. I gave them another $43, got my extra Yankee game, another two value throwaway games and juggled a couple of other days that were more convenient for me. They won’t advertise that they’ll let you do that if you already purchased a 15 game package – but they’ll do it if you ask.

Roger also added in the comments to the Dave Howard Gangbusters post:

To see how “gangbusters” ticket sales are… just run a mock ticket package through mets.com up to the point where you actually have to purchase the tickets. all of the new flex packs offer tickets to opening day or the subway series. Even on the cheap plans, you’re still getting tickets in sections 504, 524, 525 & 526 for the most sought after games. If tickets were “gangbusters” the marquee games would be available in 535, 536, 537 & 538. There are going to be plenty left once single game tickets go on sale.

Interesting.  I’ll have to check that out when I get a chance.  Welcome Roger.  One more silly video coming up.

Yesterday’s ‘How I Met The Mets’ filming session

Whoa..Jesus Feliciano, where did this snow come from this morning? I wasn’t expecting that, so I’m a little slow off the draw this morning.

Yesterday, Media Goon and I spent the day working out various silliness which I’ll share throughout the day (holiday blog traffic usually drops off, so I will save the meat and potatoes posts for tomorrow)

First up, here’s a still shot of “Rusty and Joe Torre” from the upcoming How I Met The Mets: Rusty

and here is Rusty signing an autograph at Al Lang Field in 1981.  Our budget is so big that if you look closely you’ll notice Rusty is signing with a tire pressure gauge.   We forgot to bring a pen.

David Wright bowled a 259 in Mets Bowling (updated)

The word from Florida is that David Wright led Mets Bowling Night with a 259 (wow!). Mike Pelfrey was second with a 188.

@joshthole tweets he bowled 131, 130 and 163.

More scores as I get them.

….

UPDATED: @newyorkmets tweeted that Jay Horwitz led the media department with a 150.  They also tweeted several pics which I have included above.  Thanks to the Mets for the hook-up.  Seems like fun.
