Ask Sandy a question on Mets Twitter

@newyorkmets invites you to submit some questions for Sandy. I’ll try to gather a few that were submitted and share them here. Just jump on Twitter and start your sentence with @newyorkmets

I’m @metspolice if you’d like to be my tweet pal, and the sister site is @nysportspolice

Wilpons and Uncle Saul write us about Sandy as Mets GM

Seriously – I never heard of Uncle Saul until this summer. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention, but to me it seems like he’s out front more than in the past.

Hopefully today is the dawn of the New New and not the start of another 4 year waste of time. Go get ’em Sandy. Let me know if you need Mazzilli’s number.

Several other blogs and some beat writers brought up the steroids issue (Oakland), I would like to hear him address it. More on that when my brain boots up.

October 29, 2010

Dear Mets Fans:

We are pleased to announce we have hired Sandy Alderson as the new General Manager of the New York Mets.

We realize this is a critical time for the future of this organization and we are confident Sandy is the right person to reinvigorate this franchise and produce a winning and contending team for the long term.

Sandy has led clubs to a World Championship, three American League Pennants and six division titles. He has served as General Manager, President and Chief Executive Officer of teams and also an Executive Vice President at the Commissioner’s Office.

We will introduce Sandy this afternoon during a press conference at Citi Field broadcast live on SNY and Mets.com at 2:00 p.m.

This is the first step of many in our continuing efforts to follow through on our pledge to deliver a team our fans can be proud of for the short and long term.

Thanks again for your support.

Obligatory ‘Mets announce Sandy Alderson is the new GM’ post

I hate when 7,000 people tweet the same thing but I kinda feel odd ignoring this one three years into blogging, so…

The Mets have tweeted that they will introduce Sandy Alderson as the new GM at noon, SNY press conference at 2.

I think i have figured out my role…you listen to WINS to hear news, you talk about news on WABC. This is WABC.

Anyway, how about that Mets jacket in the post below this one?
