I would too. The money doesn’t matter any more. The days of getting excited over long crazy deals are over. Someone will give him the money (probably the Yankees) and we know that ticket prices go up every year whether the teams win or lose.
I say the Mets should give it to him (well I guess a dollar more).
Will he be hurt some time in the net 6 years? Yeah he will. Everyone gets hurt, but he’s not an aging pitcher whose arm was falling off like Pedro’s was.
One thing that always gets underestimated in “the money” is that this is TV PROGRAMMING for SNY and YES.
YES televises the Bronx Zoo. I bet they wish they had Billy and Reggie still in pinstripes. Now they show the Alex Rodriguez Show. SNY had great ratings last year. That means more money for the Mets. New stadium means more money.
Stop being cheap. Go get this guy.
