Good morning….Ceetar (who is @ceetar on twitter and who operates Optimistic Mets Fan) knows that on Saturday I wake up my brain with a certain Unnamed Donuts Chain that should sponsor my blog….and he sent this one over. Â apparently Chain-of Donuts has a new baseball themed campaign.
Some say this takes the fun out of collecting the helmet caps, but I know Junior will be hitting me up for some.

I always found it fun to start collecting them, Dairy Queen did a similar promotion a couple of years ago, but I’ve forgotten when I visit new parks now to look for something as basic as ice cream. I was kinda tempted to get one. I was thinking of getting a Phillies helmet to use as a scoop for cat litter.
I believe the deal was 2 scoops of ice cream and a bottle of water. Obviously, this was at affiliated ice cream shop to unnamed donut chain.
I remember back in the late 80’s early 90’s when I was a youngin living in Breezy Point, Baskin Robbins had the helmet promotion. I wound up with a Kansas City Royals helmet. I was pretty pissed because they were out of Mets. At least it was blue.

I saw this display at the store in Coney Island. What you had to buy to get it seemed expensive to me. And I’m usually a sucker for this type of stuff.
