Major Victory in War On Black Mets Uniforms (VH Day)

With the Mets taking the field in pinless uniforms with blue caps this makes a complete non-black homestand.

The Mets wore blue caps for each game and either the pinstriped or pinless uniforms.  No hybrid caps were seen, nor were the black jerseys.

It is believed this is the first such occurrence of this century.  There is still a war on the road to be won, and black could always show up next homestand…but for now we celebrate in the streets and cheer the name of Kevin Kierst.

VA Day (Victory in Away Uniforms Day) and total victory will not be won in 2011, but this is a major victory on the homefront.

Enjoy VH Day!

  1. I hope it doesn’t take that long for us to win our next game!

    LETS GO METS!

  2. Usually, companies that name stadiums become cursed. In the Mets case, not only was Citigroup cursed, but it appears so were the Wilpons. Met fans are collateral damage.

  3. Shannon–it was certainly the ONLY silver lining to an otherwise abysmal homestand. I had a strong feeling after the Washington series that while we may see the black jersey and caps, that someone is finally honoring the “official” notion that the hybrid cap is to be worn as the road cap. Regardless, this homestand was a major win for those of us on the anti-black crusade. Well done, Mr. Shark. Tip your blue cap — you deserve it.

  4. Of course, being very superstitious, after this disaster, they may go to the black at home to change their luck.

    EXBLACKTLY!

  6. The Mets have not won while wearing their official home uniform (blue cap & pinless whites) since Aug. 27, 2010.

  7. So, would it be better for the Mets to wear the black alt jerseys with everyone wearing #42 today or should they wear the ones that say “Brooklyn” on the front and also wear all blue caps, sleeves, etc.?
