Los Mess jersey (post Murphy negativity creeps in)

Walt says, “What can I say, I have let yesterdays post game negativity inspire me.”  And so he made this.

Sigh.

I must admit I am feeling kinda 2009ish today. It will be hard to twitter tonight without my #imwith28 schtick.

Meanwhile on uniforms, some interesting thoughts from CoreyNYC were posted in the comments section of an earlier post. As with all things on Mets Police I leave it to you decide if you feel it’s accurate.  I do not know if such a conversation actually took place, but I am not aware of Corey ever lying to me.

Mets online store run by MLBAM

Mets Clubhouse Shops run by Genesco (same company as LIDS & several other chains)

Mets Team Stores at Citi Field run by Aramark

The Mets literally have no control over what any of them sell.   I speak from experience in the business.

Also, these jerseys were only intended to be carried for a certain amount of time, it was inevitable they would end up in clearance.MLB jerseys I believe are by some combination of the team/in house, by an outside consultant/agency the team might hire, by MLB Properties, & (least likely) Majestic.

In the case of the current cream home jersey, I know for a fact those were designed in house by the Mets. I happened to have a conversation with the guy who does much of the in house graphic work. He told me that he didn’t want to have black drop shadow on them because that obviously defeats the retro look but and he made his point clear with (edited by Shannon – an executive who according to the story overruled the recommendation.)

    1. Why, do you know Reyes’ status? Beyond pure speculation, it’s day to day.
Reyes’ hammy is stiff, strained, tweaked, tight or whatever. Reyes’ hammy seems to always be stiff, strained, tweaked, tight or whatever, what else is freaking new?

      1. I assume it will be at least as long as last time…probably longer given the standings. If he comes back a minute sooner than last time, the Mets will be open for hell if he hurts it yet again.

But it has to call into question what he is now worth on the market. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise, as he will be more affordable…but do you now want to risk any big money now?
