Imagine if they put Seaver in a White Sox uniform.
I think maybe it’s like a commentary on the 90’s. “Hey fans remember those terrible Eddie Murray teams of the early nineties. Well how about those good Piazza teams of the late 90’s.” Really weird choice.
Pepsi’s promotion limits the number of players you can vote for to a few per position…I guess its guys who would agree to play if chosen…the only true Met listed is Piazza.

So in their minds, to draw Met fans to vote, they made this ad with Murray as a Met to make it more appealing for Met fans to go to the site and vote. In the voting, Murray is shown in an Oriole cap. Kind of disingenous.
They could have shown Rickey as a Met in the ad too.
