Optimistic Mets Fan wants more beer at Citi Field

I’m totally encouraging Ceetar’s crusade to nag the Mets into having a wider selection of beer at Citi.

That being said, remember having one beer is cool, two maybe…you don’t need 18.  Spend your disposable income differently in the Metsconomy.

So why was Brooklyn Brewery priced out?  Why aren’t there more Sixpoint beers around the stadium, especially now that they serve the beer in cans? What about some of the other local breweries?  Chelsea? What about Schmaltz Brewing Company which makes the Coney Island Freak line of beer. Interestingly, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Mets rookie team, plays in Coney Island.  Maybe the Mets could serve Albino Python when the Diamonbacks are in town, or the Mermaid Pilsener to mock the Marlin’s cheerleaders.  What about Harlem Brewing Company’s Sugar Hill Golden Ale?  Harlem is where the Mets first placed, and where the Giants played before them.  Blue Point Brewery is probably the only real local beer outside of the Delta Club.  Their Blue Point Toasted Lager is available at Catch of the Day, but they’ve got other beers as well.

  1. Definitely. 1-2, maybe 3 if it’s an ESPN/FOX extra-commercial game.   Especially if you’re driving.

But those of us that want real beer at Citi Field understand this.  Providing us with more real options is about sipping and enjoying that beer, not downing it for alcohol.  Not saying we need the 11% ABV Belgian Trippels, but a Sixpoint Righteous Rye would really hit the spot with a Keith’s Gold Glove Burger.

  2. Even the stadium in PSL is getting a new Tiki Bar down the right field like. You can’t drink enough to watch this team!

I don’t blame him. There should be a keg in every section!

You can’t stock enough beer to be able to watch this team for the 2012 year!

Your now watching the Astros of the NL East.

BEER HERE!…..Liquor is cheaper than therapy!
