You own this Mets Jersey St. Patrick’s Day edition #2: Murphy 2012 nobody has

This is my pride and joy.  The Mets wore these in 2012 for St. Patrick’s Day.  I acquired a blank…I just did…stop asking questions…a trip to Stitches…and here we go.

There are only three of these known to exist.  The one Murphy wore in the game (whereabouts unknown), this one, and @mediagoon’s

  1. Sorry, I have to burst your bubble… there are 4 of these in existence. One hangs in my closet 🙂

    1. Nick, you are saying you have a Murphy 2012 green St Paddy’s Day jersey with a carter patch on the sleeve also?

      1. Keith,

        Yep, that’s what I’m saying 🙂

I picked up a generic St. Patrick’s Day jersey from Mets spring training last year, and what better number to put on there than that of the guy with the best Irish name of all…

Customizing my IRISH jersey with a name like SANTANA or TEJADA just would have looked funny to me… Similarly if I had bought a LOS METS jersey and put a name like Murphy on it!!

I also have the jersey Mike Baxter wore in the St. Patrick’s Day game. He played RF for the entire game, going 1 for 4. The #28 is one I knock around in…

        Nick

        1. I wat proof. Let’s see a picture. You can’t just claim to be in the elite club. I’m familiar with your awesome assortment on ebay but I need to see this one.

          1. Shannon…Shannon…Shannon…

Check your email in about a half hour. Photo of the #28 and a couple of bonus photos to go along…

            Nick

  2. Nice Nick, welcome to the Green #imwith28 club.. Yeah on the Los Mets I put EL GOON on them..

    1. I don’t have any Los Mets jerseys to knock around in, but I have a gamer from each year (to have 1 of each style) — 2011 Jerry Hairston and 2012 Ike Davis.

With the 2011, I was after a Latino player within budget.

2012 was a different story. There is a famous pic on the web of Ike Davis congratulating David Wright at the plate after Wright smacked his 200th career homer. One of my good buddies owns the jersey Wright wore, and I have Davis’.

    1. I have a sneaking suspicion I know exactly which Ron you are 🙂

Funny thing is I emailed you out of the blue yesterday, and now I have seen you twice in 24 hrs…
