What do Ray Romano, Matthew Broderick and Keith Hernandez have in common?

winter ball

Hi got an email about the event below….which makes me also want to encourage you to come to the Queens Baseball Convention at McFadden’s Citi Field on January 10th.  What caught my eye was the baseball part.

From the email

The Holiday Ball is a charity initiative where a wide array of New York favorites have agreed to impart their artistic talents by putting their creative imprint on an official Major League Baseball. From sports favorites like Tom Seaver and Keith Hernandez to radio show host Elvis Duran… from the American Ballet Theatre to actors Ray Romano and Matthew Broderick, these decorated and autographed baseballs will be on display during Winter Fest, Saturday, December 13, from 1:00-5:00 pm and raffled off with a portion of the proceeds going to Toys for Tots.

Can you imagine? For the price of a $5.00 raffle ticket (or $20 for five tickets), your followers could be the proud owners of baseballs autographed by the NY Giants or Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, Tom Seaver, Darryl Strawberry, Jesse Orosco, Willie Randolph and Jacob deGrom, winner of the National League Rookie of the Year Award.

So that’s fun. Official press release below.

Toys for Tots is a program that collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

“We are looking forward to hosting our first Winter Fest at Citi Field,” said Heather Collamore, Vice President of Metropolitan Hospitality. “The Holiday Ball is an exciting component of our event and we are honored to be working with influential members of the community to benefit a great cause.”
