Thank you Adrian Gonzalez for being an honorable addition to the Mets

Dear Mr. Gonzalez,

I find myself sad that you are no longer with the Mets.

Being honest, I was agnostic on the signing.  I’m not going to act phony and say I have been blogging about you day in and out, or even at all, but I am sad for you today.

What you did not do is embarrass the blue and orange, and there have been a lot who have over the years.  You showed up, you did your job to the best of your abilities, and you seem like a good fellow.  I wish I felt that way about everyone who passed through Queens.

I hope this is not the end of your career and someone gives you an opportunity to go out on your own terms.  I am not sure how one goes from more or less starting every day to being released, but I will leave that to the roster experts to figure out.

Best of luck in wherever your journey takes you.

If this is the end, 15 years and 2000 hits is a fine fine career.  Be proud. Head high.
