No Virginia, Mets’ Brandon Nimmo was not an All Star Game snub

I don’t know what’s going on over at Mets Basement, with their new blogging style of stuff from beginner blogs (Come back Matt, come back).

Anyway, no Brandon Nimmo was not snubbed form the All Star team.

Here’s the road to not being an All Star….

  • Your manager doesn’t even start playing you until May 4.
  • Fans of the sport vote for 6 weeks.
  • Managers consult with baseball to fill out their rosters.
  • Baseball then adds four more potential All Stars, and you don’t make the list.

One other thing you can do is bat .262 with 26 RBI.  If you have to start adding two of the normal stat categories together to make your case (SingleSteals anyone?) forget it.  .262.  26 RBI.  It’s July.  That’s not All Star, that’s “Mets good.”

Nimmo is very likable.  He’s a good player.  Not an All Star.

Believe it or not, I can like a player, he can be good and he can not be an All Star all at the same time!  Like Nimmo.
