Be cool and support the Mets Food Drive

My friends the Mets want you to know about this Food Drive.

Instead of spending $150 on an All Star Game jersey, how about you drop $5 on some food and drop it off.  You’re gonna spend $11 on a stupid beer, so be a decent person and help someone less fortunate out.

The Mets will host their annual Summer Food Drive presented by Hain Celestial benefitting The River Fund NY on Saturday, July 14 from 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm and Sunday, July 15 from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm outside of the Jackie Robinson Rotunda at Citi Field. The River Fund NY is a hunger-relief organization based in Richmond Hill, Queens that serves 160,000 clients.

Fans donating at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a remaining select Mets home game in 2018. Fans will be limited to one ticket voucher. All types of canned and packaged goods are welcome, but no glass containers or perishable foods.

Among the items most needed are: milk (powdered, evaporated, boxed), all types of pasta (packaged), rice, ramen noodles, canned vegetables, canned fruit, mac and cheese (packaged), oatmeal, hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized), boxed grits, tuna, and powdered mashed potatoes.

WHEN:           Saturday, July 14 | 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm and Sunday, July 15 | 11:00 am – 1:30 pm
