Mets Police Morning Laziness: SNY tortures fans with Prospects then finally comes to senses

SLACKISH REACTION:  Wow the 5 minutes of baseball sure was exciting.  I like how MLB is worried about foul balls but they were willing to play baseball in a lightning storm.   So what if 20,000 people are outside?  We want you safe because we want you back.

Then SNY switched to Prospects, the dating show for millennials who like baseball or something.  Holy crap that was awful.

Around 8:40, which is when I am writing this part, I switched back and SNY is showing “Gelbs interviews Nimmo, but there’s someone else sitting next to Gelbs, and it looks like they are using one handheld camera” and it’s fantastic.  Just do THIS SNY.  It probably cost $40 and its great.

I don’t know what the hell this is, but at least it is Mets Releated, ya know?  I don’t know why it exists but better than Prospects.

I also like my idea for “Beer Yeah” – which would replace both Beer Money and Oh Yeah.  In this concept we have a bunch of drunks try to remember stuff from 1994….we ask them to remember things that may or may not have happened,   “Hey drunks, remember when the 94 Jets started 4-0”   Did that happen?  I dunno.  I just wanna hear what the drunks say.

LAST NIGHT, 8:47PM:  I could clean up the post, but it’s more fun this way.  Apparently Gelbs & The Guy is…..

Cool. I like this. Make this the new SNY Filler.

MORNING:   After all that there was a long twitter discussion about whether or not ushers should be checking tickets after a two hour rain delay.  In oe of the most bizarre discussions I can remember – I argued NO, and T-Shirt Guy argued Yes.  Here’s what I didn’t tell you – the person whose tickets were checked was wearing his T-Shirt Enthusiast Jersey to go sit in the T-Shirt Enthusiast Section on T-Shirt Enthusiasm Night.  To me, the ushers need to use some common sense and some good customer relations  – again remember there was a two hour delay.  If the guy was running a scam, it was elaborate.  I will write more about this later in the week but today is an Actually Work (TM) Day.

Which reminds me WEEKDAY DAY GAMES ARE INSANE – more on that in a mid morning post.

Finally, SNY miked up Mickey mid-game and had Gare and Ron chat with hi which I thought was cool.  More of that please.

NOT LINKING: The guys at the AAIMBR who can’t even be creative enough to come up with something other than Morning Briefing have “DeGrom Closes Out Series” – Jesus guys, at least try.  I feel like JDG just pitched but I guess not.  I am glad the AAIMBR wrote this fine article!!

Also MetsBlog, having an awful year, is back to COULD articles, this one about COULD McNeil be the answer at second.  Yes, all things are possible MetsBlog.

Todd Frazier’s OPS is .660

After the rain, Mickey Hodges used 5 pitchers to chase a loss, instead of using one pitcher in lonnnng relief, having that pitcher unavailable today, and then there is an off day tomorrow.

Weekday day games are insane.

The Mets lost 6-1 if that’s what you were looking for.
