Mets fans, is it time we start taking better care of our David Wright attire?

I have a David Wright t-shirt I wear a lot.  I don’t love it, it’s the kind of shirt I wear around the house.  I’ve never been afraid to wear it when working on the pool (chlorine is a MOFO and I’ve wrecked lots of things over the years just by absentmindedly touching a chlorine tab then a shirt).

This DW shirt is probably circa 2011, it has dropshadow, it says DAVID WRIGHT for no particular reason.

And now it has a small hole.

It’s been washed (lets say once a week for 8 years) 400 times?   It’s had a good run and I will still wear it because I’m not exactly Don Draper.

It got me thinking – should we start protecting our Wright stuff?  Should we go stack up?

Pretty soon @mediagoon won’t be able to pop over to Modell’s to load up, and we’ll all be facing Mitchell & Ness throwback prices.  Even now if I wanted to replace my Wright tee, how would I even do that?

Welcome to the future.
