Matt Harvey pitched a tune-up on Saturday, let’s recreate it on the Holodeck

In what will likely be his last pitching appearance of his 20’s, The Dark Knight supposedly returned.  I say supposedly because despite all my many Matt Harvey news trackers and sources I can only find one paragraph about it….

In a minor league game at Tempe Diablo Stadium, Matt Harvey threw five innings of four-hit, one-run baseball. He gave up a pair of walks and struck out two. Harvey, who will start the second game of the regular season, threw 85 pitches with “good velocity,” manager Brad Ausmus said (Via LA Times)

That’s all I got.   I know that’s not fun, so let’s run the game through the holodeck using some old pictures and see what we can make up for fun.

Computer…initiate program Matt Harvey One.

It was a lovely Saturday as The Dark Knight Of Anaheim of Los Angeles (TDKOALA) returned.  How would he do?  Who knows.  We’ll have to make most of it up.

Uh oh, it’s easy to imagine one of those unlucky 388 foot outs!  Whew, this one stayed in the park.

Luckily Matty Baseball escaped unscathed.

Oh no, let’s pretend he has walked a guy!

Will he get rattled?  No!  TDK’s got this and he gets out of it.

Matt has some life on his fastball, striking out this guy.  In theory.

It’s a nice solid outing for Matty Baseball!  5 innings, 4 hits, one run.  How did Matt feel about it?

“I felt like I was making all my pitches” is something Matt might have said.  Who knows, it seems nobody covered this game.

“I’m just happy to be part of this team” is something he might have said.

Any plans for your birthday Matt?

“Heh heh, let’s not talk about those.  I do think this post would have been better had the writer not been afraid to use more screen grabs from my time with the Reds instead of trying to do it all off two starts with the Angels, in one of which I wore a green cap.” is something Matt could have potentially said.

Good point Matt.
