Mets Police Morning Laziness: Mets Tigers World Series rematch weekend! Wait, what?

Holy cow, so much going on.

When we last left, Mr. Ehalt had asked me politely to speak less often.  That inspired me to write about the Yahoo PaySite that is partnered with the Mets (aka Wilpons) that never actually launched.  That article is very popular.

It was a bad day all around for people named Matt.  One Matt, last name Harvey was really really bad at baseball yesterday.  Like really bad.  Like you won’t believe it bad.

Speaking of home runs, I won’t be surprised if we never hear Zeile in the booth again after he dared step on this Gary Cohen HR call!

You need to read this Uni Watch discussion with Nick Francona about MLB’s Memorial Day stuff.  Seriously great stuff.

SLACKISH REACTION:  Oh yeah the game.   Hey look, they won 4 in a row and you play who they tell you to.  Here’s a question – does Conforto get his job back?  You don’t want to mess with chemistry, right?  Man if I had an ESPN show I’d make that argument and rile everyone up. Anyway, I really like Mickey’s new strategy of hoping guys hit clutch HRs.

Good article from Steve Philips were he talks about Wags.

“The baseball gods just have a funny way of just bringing us to our knees. I don’t think him saying that affected the way the team has played, but I think it did affect the expectations that everyone had. Now that it’s not happening the natural inclination is, ‘OK, who are we going to blame for this?’ ” (via NY Post)

Oh and Cespedes had season ending surgery.
