Let’s review this wacky video starring Lyin’ Todd Frazier. Sad.

OK so I am between a rock and a hard place.  I really don’t want to give any clicks to this video but it begs to be made fun of so I know you will click on it.

First of we have a grown man referring to himself as The ToddFather.  Normally I’d say hey this is a fun video and it’s for Father’s Day and it’s a clever pun but no….this guy really calls himself that.

John?

Cool.

The Toddfather does look good on camera, and he has a bit of charisma.  (What, I said I would review the video.  He looks good and has charisma.)

But does anyone want to see him change Mr. Met’s diaper?  Who thought THAT was a good idea.

That’s really creepy.

But then it’s on to this…

Whoa….this is mind-opening!   Can we have a full blown Todd Frazier: The Animated Series PLEASE.

I imagine it taking place in a cartoon version of Toms River where Animated Todd Frazier hangs out with children and talking animals (like any good animated series does).    So he could play baseball with some neighborhood kids and his best friend Derek Cheetah and get some Taylor Ham and go down the shore and stuff.  (A very good looking Cheetah that Animated Todd looks up to.)

Also the animation department was a bit generous with the hairline, but hey its a cartoon.

Here we see the Gender Bias part of the Animated Todd Frazier series.  The women are princesses and the lawyers are men.  Todd, women can be lawyers too you know.   Some of the country’s greatest legal minds are Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

I hope the animation department includes a more diverse legal team in future episodes.

Finally, the video takes a potentially scary turn.  Todd talks about what happens if you date his daughter and says to remember he has a lot of bats.   Wait what?  Is he going to hit fungoes to us?   His message is unclear.   Todd seems pretty chill, hopefully he will just hit fungoes.

And there ya have it.  Since we’ve made so much fun of this go ahead and give SNY their desired clicks.

And kids remember the lesson of Lyin’ Todd Frazier.  If the umpires ask you if you caught the ball, always say yes.  Sad.

Final Review:

Acting:           A.              I believed Todd in the role.

Charisma:     A-            Not quite Mookie Wilson good, but imagine Matt Harvey in this. Which reminds me, if Matt Harvey made this video instead of working out and reviewing game films you would make fun of him.

Messaging:  F                As discussed, some gender biases and a hint of violence. Not good messaging for young parents who should not pigeon hole their children, nor threaten their children’s potential dating partners with implied violence.

Pacing:            A               This video moves along.

Direction:       A               Nice unexpected creative choice with the animated section.

Set Design:     A              The video looks good.   Nice Elmo like living room set.

Overall:              B              Hopefully in the sequel the messaging can be better thought out.  Other than that, an outstanding effort by Mr. Frazier and the creative team.

So I think here we have a model for SNY’s future.   They could do the long talked about SNY 11:30  – picture The Daily Show but making fun of the Mets.  They could add my new idea called We Agree to the late afternoon block.

And of course a fully realized version of this new Lyin’ Todd Frazier’s World Sad to run in the morning for the kids.  Maybe Todd could add a segment called Who Did We Block Today? where Todd, Derek Cheetah and the neighborhood kids pick someone to block on social media.

It’s a whole new SNY and a hell of a lot better than that dating show.

Nice job SNY.
