Why do you suppose SNY decided Dopey Meme Tweets was the way to go?

Here is a sampling from SNY’s twitter feed over the weekend…

Now a good test of where the fanbase is right now will be whether or not this post gets WHO CARES, THEY HAVE BEEN WINNING LFGM BRO SO NEGATIVE or if people agree with me. Since there are a lot of front runners out there who can’t spell LGM correctly, I will guess the former. But I digress…

Like what is that? Who is it for? What is the point? “ENGAGEMENT” or something? Let’s take a step back…

SNY is really at its core MetsVision the channel where we watch Mets games.  SNY minus the Mets would be Public Access TV with newspaper guys arguing and the occasional random college football game..

Aspirationally they think they are some sort of New York Sports Super Channel something something and that people like shows where people yell at each other despite FS1 proving nobody watches those things (look up some articles about how FS1 shouting shows get outrated by things like Green Acres reruns) and of course Bromance Hashtag Time at 5pm whatever that thing is. And dating shows.

But I digress…

WHAT IS THAT?

What is the point of the engagement? Is it to get people to go “Yo, bro check out the sick memes SNY is dropping” or however the teens talk?  My teen is either playing Fortnite or watching Fortnite videos. He ain’t looking at SNY Twitter.

But maybe that’s the goal? To get that crowd to expand SNY’s twitter base so……what exactly then…..to get my son to watch Bromance Hastag Thing and Dating Shows? So why bother with the whole Mets thing that SNY wastes a lot of time covering?

Now, some of the Mets stuff that they tweet is great. Highlight plays. Some of the post-game interview stuff. Home Run calls! But in-between we get…

Never mind “SNY Plus” I would pay $5 a month for “SNY Minus” – just give me Mets games and Mets info and that’s it. No memes. No Energy Vampire (SNY Minus can just go silent during those, just like GKR do). No dating show. No Brotime Hashtag Hour. Sign me up. Take my money.

Meanwhile…what are we even doing SNY?
