Friday’s Mets game was the perfect example of what’s wrong with baseball in 2019

Last night’s game was a perfect example of what’s wrong with baseball in 2019.

For a while, it was a nice exciting baseball game.  Why?  Because it was ZERO ZERO with the pitchers throwng gems.

Then the home runs started.  The problem with MLB’s Home Run Ball is there is no drama.  They might as well play stickball.   There’s no anticipation of the score.  Even in soccer, which many of you don’t choose to understand or get, you can see most goals coming.  Baseball is now sitting around until someone pops one.  We get 20 seconds of buzz and then back to inaction.

So McNeil homered yay.   Pete Alonso hit a nice big rounder, and I look at it like he hits too many home runs.  There’s no fun out of it.  Its boring boring baseball.  I didn’t get excited at all about it…because it’s happening too often MLB.

At 9:56, with the Mets in a Fringe Playoff Race, I turned the game off in the 8th or 9th inning. I was more interested in seeing if Trump would be impeached.

You can’t tell me you like the current form of this sport.    It’s the most boring it has….HEY HOME RUN….oh back to my boring sentence, someone just homered, it’s the most boring it has ever been.  Just awful and unwatchable.

This sport is going to join horse racing and boxing.  I know nobody wants to hear it, but you’ve lost Gen Z and you’re going to lose us old guys.  Good luck with the millennials.
