Mets Police Morning Laziness: wait, the Mets were done with Mickey Callaway in May, why didn’t you tell us?

I feel like we’re stuck in an endless time loop where nothing happens until the Mets hire a manager.

David, why didn’t you tell me?

SLACKISH REACTION:   So, the Access Media threw this one out there..

By late May, the Mets had a good idea they wouldn’t be bringing back Mickey Callaway in 2020. It was likely at 90% certainty by the All-Star break, then cemented when the team’s second-half playoff push fell short. (via Newsday)

Wait, was this known in May?   Or did the newspaper learn in the last 24 hours that the Mets had this idea back in May.   Let me guess, the former.

Was this known?   I can’t say I was am the biggest reader of Newsday, but surely with 7000 Mets Blogs someone would have noticed this and mentioned it.  Surely my many times a day search for Mets would have uncovered it, just like it uncovered it this morning.

So, if this was out there, why didn’t it get to the general fanbase?  You may even tell me Newsday printed it.  Fine.  Why didn’t it get to the general fanbase?

This is the problem with the Access Media.  Nobody reports things until they get re-assigned to the Yankees.  Then everyone suddenly has years of dirt to tell.  Hi Marc yeah you.

This is the same Access Media that fawned over Mickey Hodges New Culture by the way. We were fed that narrative until it no longer served a purpose.  Now it seems 86 Wins Mickey was the worst ever.  OK.

Depending on which newspaper you read today, Tim Bogar is definitely getting the Mets job, except of course Tony Perez’ Son is getting it, and they are still in on Girardi, and there’s no way they hire CAA’s Skip Schumaker, the newspaper’s have moved on from him being a candidate.

The good news is the newspapers don’t seem to think the Mets are hiring Girardi, which means they probably are.
