Mets Police Morning Laziness: it’s a tie….and no baseball is not great right now

SLACKISH REACTION:  The Mets game was a tie.  Are you OK?  Is your family OK?  See, the world did not end.  Baseball should have ties.  Let’s play nine and go home.  The Japanese League has ties and it’s OK.

So this happened…..

Apparently on the broadcast they said the org has decided to let guys wear their minor league jerseys rather than issue guys number 98 or whatnot. OK, I get that but can we have SOME exceptions? Like maybe keep a 97, 98, 99 jersey around so we don’t have someone wearing 5 or 31 or can you imagine some minor leaguer wearing 41??

Nick reports in that Gary needs some reps as he’s already mailing in HR calls.

That one wasn’t TOO bad, but I see what Nick is worried about.

Come on out to a game, you can’t even see the netting.

This exchange below stuck with me.  I actually feel bad for Tim.  I can understand why he thinks baseball is awesome now….he graduated college in 2014, lets make him 21 then…..so he is 11 in 2001…..his memories of baseball are all 21st Century, coming even after the Sosa/McGwire years when baseball’s leadership let the sport get away.  Born into this awful version of Home Runs and Strikeouts, how could Tim be expected to understand how good baseball used to be?

There’s no need to feel bad for me Tim, it’s your generation we should feel bad for.  You didn’t get to experience Good Baseball, just this terrible modern version that is going to die.

I really don’t see how someone could think baseball is “great” now.  I think the sport had it’s least entertaining, least historic decade since the 1910s. The game has no superstars that transcend the sport, just some names that baseball writers know….and we have a corrupt championship further complicating things.

Scroll down this list and let me know when you get to a baseball player.  Now if you want to say its a world list and that nobody cares about soccer or MMA or racing fine….scroll down and let me know when you get to a baseball player.
