Mets Police Morning Laziness: Klark Kent Returns!

SLACKISH REACTION:  Who would have thought there would be more POLICE than METS news?

I figured I would check in since everyone else in my house is asleep and I can’t even get to my baseball caps without waking everyone up, so Donuts Chain has to wait (my hair looks crazy) but it was fun to wake up to this!

Long story short, The Police’s drummer Stewart Copeland had a “secret” persona years ago (hmmmm) that let him do something creatively he couldn’t do in his actual guise as Stewart Copeland (hmmmm) so he created Klark Kent (hmmmm) and out out an album that kinda sounds like the Police minus Sting….and I like it a lot.

All week, Stewart has been referencing Klark….and this morning we got a new song!

This is The Police equivalent of finding a whole bunch of photos of Mr. Met 1.5! Below are both known photos of Mr. Met 1.5 who has been otherwise erased from history.

If you’re bored, here’s a good exploration of How Many Misters Met are there?

As for the Mets – yeah, nothing.  I know MLB is still pretending they are gonna play, which is probably more about TV money than anything else (same for the other leagues), which I can understand but I still don’t see it.

Some people are all wigged this morning about the MLB Draft cutting rounds.  Whatever.  I have zero interest in the MLB Draft!

I guess I am supposed to tie this all together, so I will go with June 1986.  Both the Police and the Mets are at the height of their powers.  The Police, after a 3 year break, are back together and on tour.  Here they are headlining the Amnesty International Shows, where a band called U2 correctly went on before The Police.

It was great to see the boys together again. And with all this great pitching the Mets have, they should be about to start quite a run. The rest of the 1980’s should be a great time for Mets and Police fans.

I hope you are safe.  If anything ever happens, I will comment on it.  In the meantime, enjoy Coronavirus Filler.
