Why do you suppose Robinson Cano is not in Mets camp?

So I heard an NBA reporter talking to Bill Simmons about how that league is not commenting on whether or not a player has COVID until the player wants it known, and that reporters are subtweeting things like “so and so is not in camp.”

I share with you this report from Newsday.

Robinson Cano has not participated in the Mets’ workouts the past three days.

A Mets spokesman declined to comment. Their new organizational policy, as the coronavirus pandemic threatens the baseball season, is to not comment on  anybody’s absence.

We here at Newsday have no idea why Mr. Cano might not be at camp.  It could be for a variety of reasons.

Meanwhile, we do continue to wish anyone suffering from this horrible disease a speedy recovery and remind all readers to WEAR A MASK.
