Baseball Hall of Immortals – Inductee #62: Randy Johnson

The most dominating left-hander of the last 30 years is rhe 62nd inductee into the Baseball Hall of Immortals.

Randy Johnson wasn’t just dominating – he was scary dominating.  At 6’10” he was the tallest player to ever play major league baseball (at the time).  He used that frame to his fullest advantage.

In 22 seasons, spent mostly with Seattle and Arizona, Johnson won 303 games with a 3.29 ERA,  while striking out 4,875 – good for second all-time.  He led the league in strikeouts 9 times, topping 300 in five years.  Seven times he posted sub-3.00 ERAs

In 2004, at the age of 40, Johnson became the oldest pitcher in history to toss a perfect game (his 2nd no-hitter).

Did I mention he won five Cy Young Awards? And that he is 3rd all time in K/9 IP at 10.6.

No one can arguye that Randy Johnson is an Immortal.
