Why the new MLB extra inning and doubleheader rules? Easy. Last two Mets games a good answer. 3:44 and 3:49 to play a 9 inning game is absurd. Too much down time. BBs, Ks, HRs and foul balls. How can they improve the PACE of play when the ball is hardly ever IN PLAY?
