Mets Game Notes for Aug 7 – who knew Davis had a 10 game hit streak?

My friends the Mets want us all to know

Prior to tonight’s game the Mets have announced the following roster moves: RHP Robert Gsellman was reinstated from the IL…LHP Daniel Zamora was optioned to the team’s Alternate Training Site…INF Luis Carpio has been added to the team’s 60-man player pool and OF Ryan Cordell has been outrighted to the team’s Alternate Training Site...

Media Goon is on his ways to Modell’s to get a Carpio jersey.

Gsellman went 2-3 with a 4.66 ERA (33 earned runs/63.2 innings) with 23 walks and 60 strikeouts in 52 appearances for the Mets last year…Yesterday, the team optioned catcher Ali Sánchez to the team’s Alternate Training Site.

J.D. Davis is on a 10-game hitting streak, who knew, which matches his career- best for the second-time…He also accomplished that feat from August 5-16 last year…He is batting .353 (12-34) with five runs, a double, two home runs, six RBI, five walks, a .450 OBP and a .559 SLG in that span…It is tied for the third longest active streak in the majors…Davis ranked 10th in the NL with a 136 wRC+ (weighted runs created plus) and was 17th in the NL with a .373 wOBA (weighted on-base average) last season.

Michael Wacha owns a three-game winning streak and has never lost vs. the Marlins…He has made four career starts against the Fish and is 3-0 with a 3.32 ERA (eight earned runs/21.2 innings) with six walks and 19 strikeouts…He had his best start against the club in his most recent outing vs. the club on June 10 of last season, when he held the Marlins scoreless for 6.0 innings, allowing just five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

And let’s check in on Vulgar Pete!  Did you know DANIEL MURPHY HAS MORE HOME RUNS THAN VULGAR PETE?
