How GKR+Gelbs and the Mets Beat all blew the Jacob deGrom story

Here at Mets Police I don’t second guess, I first guess.

As you saw, Jacob deGrom had a scratched start.  The signs were there.  I have proof, and lots of it.

March 7th, MetsPolice.com article citing the New York Times’ coverage of Syndergaard’s injury as a warning.  I even went to the BIG RED FONT for this one.

Buy hey, there was #TheNarrative and The Narrative declared that JDG was throwing hard ooooooooo.

March 12th, another article on MetsPolice.com after the media fawned again over how hard JDG was throwing in March.

Now Gary, I get that a lot of the beat are younger than us, but you have called 30+ years of Mets games.  Can you recall an instance of a starting pitcher asking for an extra day’s rest?  One?  Can you name one?  Usually they want the ball and want to go on shot rest.  But y’all just glossed over this.  But that’s ok.

April 20 another tweet

Here’s a piece from April 21 asking WHY does JDG want an extra day between starts.

I can almost understand you all ignoring everything above this line because JDG has been pitching so well, but when he asked for more time for a second time everyone’s spidey sense should have been tingling, no?

4 days ago tweet.

Gary and the Beat, you didn’t think it was odd that JDG was asking for a day’s rest AGAIN?   Not the least bit odd.  Nope, let’s talk about Pete Alonso’s fake coach and just print whatever the Mets feed us.

Where was Gelbs on this?  Every game gets interrupted with “I talked to so and so” reports from Gelbs.  You didn’t think anything was wrong with Jake?

Ronnie, you know a lot more about pitching that I do.  Isn’t it odd that a pitcher would ask for extra time?

Whichever Tim it was that got into it with me on twitter about Alonso’s defense?  Where was your deGrom story?

The Truth WAS out there Scully.  It’s in this article about Lat injuries.  You know what causes Lat injuries?  Throwing too hard.
