SLACKISH REACTION: While you guys sleep in every Sunday, I of course am out the door super early driving to far-away soccer. Enjoy writing could articles or signing former clients or whatever it is you guys do with your time.
As the Winter Meetings begin, be ready for a week of way too many speculation articles. My haters will be out in force.
Another quiet morning, before the storm.
Congratulations to Atlanta on winning MLS. That’s a really nice success story down there. Wait until Manfred realizes the soccer team is more popular than the Braves…..which reminds me….I was at Youth Basketball Opening Day yesterday. In a town where teams beg any able bodied kid to help fill out the baseball rosters, the gym was overflowing with basketball players. Pay attention commish, the bill is coming due.
I played lots of video games (mostly Fifa) and watched Creed (one). Creed is so fantastic and what a great performance by Stallone.
In the interview he talked a lot about the injuries, the injuries, the injuries. He also admitted to making mistakes when he was here (he gave a good quote, but my post crashed and I lost the exact phrasing.)
I don’t think ANYONE has been tougher on this guy than I have, but he handled himself well.
Clearly he was given talking points that HE WAS INJURED. Mentioned this a lot. A lot. Like more than Todd Frazier mentions he is from New Jersey. Matt also has the talking point now (in the August before his Free Agency) that he is healthy now. “When I was injured” type language.
For decades scientists said it was impossible, but the Mets have figured out a way to transfer information to you without charging you several dollars a ticket. This is absolutely amazing.
I wonder what brought this on? Maybe tickets are moving slowly? Maybe the Mets are just kind?
Will the Mets go bankrupt selling tickets without fees? Only time will tell.
