A Mets Web Site About Nothing – NYTimes.com

Oh man I saw the Times headline and I was like, “Hey my site is about nothing!!” and got all excited.  Alas, it is about nonohitters.com

On the Web site, each of the Mets’ 35 one-hitters — five of which were thrown by Seaver — is accompanied by box scores and game summaries written by Lammers. Also featured are pitchers who threw no-hitters before or after their time with the Mets.

Get Dunk’d for Mets tickets

OK, now Mets Police is starting to make the big time.  This is (so far) the best Saturday Morning Donuts post ever.

Never mind all that uniform/fanbrick./obstructed views stuff that the site got known for…I know I have the Mets’ attention….but now I have the attention of something that really matters…the formerly Unnamed Donuts Chain reached out and wants to be my friend.

Dunkin’ Donuts will be giving customers an amazing opportunity to win Mets tickets all summer long at local Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants.  Signing up for the “Get Dunk’d” program is really simple:

•             Log on to www.getdunkd.com and click the “like” button

•             Print your “Get Dunk’d” VIP Card or download the VIP Card to your mobile hand held device

•             Visit www.getdunkd.com to find out where the Get Dunk’d team will be for each ticket giveaway

•             All tickets will be distributed at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the New York Metro Area*

•             Be one of the first people to show up to the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant location, during the specified time, with your “Get Dunk’d” VIP Card and have the chance to win tickets to Yankees, Mets and theme parks all summer long!

The “Get Dunk’d” program kicks off Dunkin’ Donuts social media presence in the New York Metro In addition to the Get Dunk’d program, you will be able to stay updated at www.getdunkd.com as well as  via twitter at www.twitter.com/DunkinMetroNY or www.facebook.com/DunkinDonuts.

Thanks Dunkin’ Donuts friends!  Wouldn’t a regular ad spot on the site look neat?  Wouldn’t “MetsPolice.com powered by Dunkin’ Donuts” make sense for both of us…after all, the writer is actually powered by your fine product.

Speaking of which…I will be back after a quick run for a larged iced coffee and a chocolate glazed (or two).

Jerry Seinfeld on WFAN

Die hard Mets fan, Jerry Seinfeld is going to be on the Steve Sommers show on WFAN on Saturday 5/21.

I can not confirm that either Seinfeld or the Schmooze will be wearing puffy shirts doing the phone in between the hours of 1pm-4pm.

Deadspin joins in on the Coffee the dog discussion

The well-read Deadspin is now involved.  This is now a “thing.”

The Stop Abusing Coffee Facebook folks have over 1,700 fans, and even more signatures on their online petition. Theyve reached out to the Mets, to old-timey New York reporter-cum-gumshoe-types, to the NYPD and the ASPCA, and, well, they got us and Cant Stop the Bleeding. Close enough.

Again, I hope that this doesn’t somehow backfire.
