Mets Police Police

I’m booing myself and this hypocritical website I run.   Anyone notice these ads for Football Fanatics that keep popping up?   They are selling black Mets attire.

RealDavidHoward.com should be all over this!  (There actually is a davidhoward.com but it’s for something else).

What will the Mets Police sell next?  Plexiglass?!

(In all seriousness, I have this fantasy that I could make a few bucks off the site – and I like that I finally got the site tuned to display Mets related advertising.)

Go ahead, bust my chops.  I would.

Pictures of the New York Mets Season Ticket Holders MVP event

The Mets were very active on their twitter account today (as part of the plan to brainwash us all according to some members of the mainstream media).  Even David Wright jumped on twitter (see Mets Blog for a recap of that, as part of the plan to brainwash us all according to some members of the mainstream media).

Be sure to follow @newyorkmets (and @metspolice).  Here are some of the pictures the Mets tweeted from the Season Ticket Holder MVP gathering this evening.

Anyone notice we are seeing a lot of pinstripes this off-season?   VERY interesting.  Probably one of their attempts to trick the bloggers.

I bet tomorrow’s coat drive is an attempt to distract me as well!

(In case someone is curious which members – I actually can’t remember, check my twitter stream –  I’m just funnin’ anyway but one of the beaters was crankypants that the bloggers got a phone call with Sandy.)

The times the Mets had awesome starting pitching and didn’t win (Cliff Lee)

Hey remember 1987? Doc, Darling, Ojeda, and Sid? How could that team lose?

How about 1989? The Mets didn’t even need ton have Doc be the ace! Frank Viola came to town! Viola, Doc, Ojeda, David Cone and Sid! Darling couldn’t even start for that team! That team was so great that they coukd trade away Mookie AND Dykstra (and McDowell).

Does that sound like a team about to enter one of the darkest times in franchise history? Hell no, the 1986 dynasty was just chugging along!

Yes the Phillies are stocked. The good news is the Mets still get to play 162 games. Do I have high hopes? Nope. However, I wait until April 20th or so before I start calculating “the math” (if the Phillies play .500 the rest of the way…)

What’s interesting to me is how the Philies have made themselves an elite team. New ballpark, always filled, thy win and they re-load. Like Boston. And who would have thought that in the 21st century that Boston would be a model franchise (who were smart enough not to build Fakeway Park across the street)?

Big thanks to Media Goon for covering the site yesterday. It wa unexpectedly very busy in the Metsiverse.

Today’s big story will be the holiday party at Citi. The Mets were kind enough to invite me but I need to be in four places today and Day Job Boss won the tiebreakers.

My guess, and it’s just a guess, on yesterday’s flurry of Mets press release activity is that they wanted to clear out all business so that they can go silent after the party. My theory on that is that whoever has final say on a press release going out is heading off for holiday break. I’ve seen such behavior at other companies. Nobody to approve = no news. Just a theory as an aside.

Goonie is in command again today. If you see anything cool hit him up at [email protected] and copy me at [email protected]

Thanks Mets fans!
