>Good Luck To Torre and Rays; Stadium Closed

>I'm glad to hear the Yankees won't be having a final concert (or hockey game) at Yankee Stadium. The final game was a great event. Let the memories stop there and not with a Bon Jovi concert.

Good luck to Joe Torre, someone who was not considered to replace Willie Randolph. I bet Joe could have found two more wins had he taken over the Mets last winter.

Meanwhile don't think I've forgotten about The Rays. Nice scrappy team of nonames. Yes Red Sox – Dodgers will be more cinematic, but I'll root for the little guys in Tampa.

Who do you suppose the Steinbrenners are rooting for?

Mets Walkoffs

The folks over at Mets Walkoffs run a pretty amazing blog.  Me, I’m just a loudmouth with a laptop.    Walkoff actually has facts and statistics.

Here’s an interesting post about great ballplayers that didn’t do so well at Shea.

Did you know Johnny Bench only hit .229 at Shea?  Of course you didn’t.  Nobody does.  Click the link.

>Why Isn't Santana Clutch?

>

MLB.com just emailed me this:

WHO’S NEXT? YOU DECIDE.
This award recognizes the player who performed his best when the game was on the line, who delivered the walk-off homer or who was there with six-plus strong innings. It celebrates the player who always connects on a two-out hit or is automatic in the bullpen. He is the player that rises to the occasion when his team needs him most. He is clutch.

Your choices:  Berkman, Lee, Morneau, Pujols, K-Rod and Sabathia.  Some are pitchers.  I thought Santana was pretty clutch.   Maybe he doesn’t deserve to win, but he seemed pretty darn clutch to me.

Today is Day 10 of the Mets not refunding playoff tickets.  They immediately charged us.  Why not immediately refund?
