Touring The Stores Near Wrigley Field

When I went to Wrigley Field earlier this summer I took tons of pics.

One thing I enjoyed was walking around the neighborhood checking out all the mom & pop Cubs stores and stands.

I’m not a fan of the merchandise that bashes other teams.

These next few shots are from one of the big stores next to the stadium.   I don’t know what it is called but I bet any Cubs fan could tell us in two seconds.

Notice how almost everything is Cubs blue, not some crazy Charlie Samuels black or marketing department  variant?

I thought the Japanese nameplate on the Fukodome jerseys was fun.  The Cubs fan I was with bought one, and I asked him how he could be sure it didn’t say “Dopey American.”   Maybe Fukodome giggles his way to the bank.

Spoke too soon…some green stuff has infiltrated!

Tomorrow we’ll take a subway ride to Wrigley!

Wrigley Field Has A Brickwalk Too

I guess these are pretty common around the major leagues.   Look familiar?  This one is in Chicago.

Another Idea The New York Mets Could Borrow From Wrigley

One thing many parks have, that I wish the Mets would have are statues.   There’s no need to go crazy with them, and the Cubs are by no means the only team that does that (I just happened to have a camera with me last week.)

I think a statue of Tom Seaver somewhere between the 7 train and the Rotunda would go along way.   “Meet you at Seaver.”

I guess it would be uncool to have one of Buckner…but man would that be awesome.

Obstructed View At "New Comiskey"

Stumbled across this site in Chicago which is a resource to tell you which seats at Wrigley are behind a pole.  I guess they got in a spitting match with some White Sox fans about the poles…and this picture is an example of an obstructed view in White Sox Stadium.

I almost got suckered into some $5 stubhub seats until a wise friend told me why they were so cheap.

This shot is from an actual seat on the lower deck in right-ish field at Wrigley.   I did not pose the shot or angle it to make it look bad.  I just sat down and snapped away.

$50 To Park Next To Wrigley Field (Updated)

I didn’t frame this shot right….what you are not seeing is Wrigley Field about 30 feet to the right….but if you want to park that close to the stadium…

It is going to cost you $50.

Take the El or the subway or whatever they call it.   You can also park a few blocks down for $30.

Updated:  I found the pictures.  $50 gets you a spot here.
