Who Are You?

I’m a little worried.

I’m all excited about The Mets.   I’m emailing friends, I even started an elevator conversation about The Mets this morning.

They have caught up to the Phillies and Jerry the Gangsta has them playing with some spunk for the first time since, I dunno, September 11, 1987.

Yet I worry.

The Mets have conditioned my brain to expect that they will now lose every game until the All Star Break and they’ll be 6 back on Monday.

They wouldn’t do that to us, would they?

M-E-T-S, Mets Mets Mets!

Great night!  Mets win, Phillies lose.

Pelfrey was rocking.  SNY mentioned the Giants.  The Jets acknowledged Queens for the first time in a quarter century.  UnderReyes got his first hit.

I’m starting to get excited so watch out, that probably means they lose 5 of 6.

Maybe they shouldn’t have allowed the Jets’ bad luck back in the building.

Ryan Church, I hope you get well soon.  Don’t rush back just for a baseball game, get healthy.

Meanwhile in the Bronx – Rays have nice uniforms but Yanks win.

Most importantly I get to go to bed early!   Good night all around.

SNY Mentions New York Giants

Cheers to SNY, they actually mentioned that the Giants played in New York City once!   (And they employ Lee Mazzilli, but I digress.)

Fred Wilpon owns part of this network, right?  It would not surprise me if someone were fired from this departure from the Brooklyn Dodgers propoganda machine.

Amazing Mystery Of The New York Giants (Part 1)

I’m really looking forward to N’Ebbets Field next year, what with the Jackie Robinson Rotunda and the Ebbets Field look….but I may have uncovered a secret mystery forever unknown to anyone who is emplyed by the Mets.  Brace yourselves….

I think the Giants may have once played in New York.

Now I know you’re saying, “Mets Police you’re crazy!  The only National League team to ever play in New York was the Dodgers.”

That’s what we’ve been led to believe by Fred Wilpon and his CitiField minions.

Now look at this picture on the left.   It’s the Polo Grounds, original home of the Mets.  The team is wearing the familiar NY logo on their caps…but look closely at the uniform.  It says “G I A N T S.”   Very mysterious.

Next we’ll take a look at Willie Mays.  Not many Mets fans remember this broken down old outfielder.  Sort of the Moises Alou of his day.   There’s really nothing remarkable about this player, so there’s no reason to honor him or name a piece of Citifield after him.

But look at the picture on the right.  It appears to be the same man, yet younger.  He is wearing a familiar looking cap, and his jersey says New York.  However, the picture is clearly from the 1950’s – BEFORE THERE WERE METS!    How could this be?   Could Willie Mays have played in New York City in the 1950’s?

How could this be possible if he were not on the Dodgers???

More of our investigation to this rumored and possibly forgotten team tomorrow.

Play The November 9th Jets Game At Shea

It’s too bad the Colts don’t play the Jets this year, but how about moving the Jets game on November 9th to Shea Stadium.

Sure there are some logistics – but they move games from time to time and the world doesn’t end.   The NFL is able to move Saints games to Giants Stadium and Europe, and they are really good at Personal Seat Licenses so don’t tell me it can’t be done.

If there is even talk of closing out Yankee Stadium with a hockey game, surely closing out Shea with the return of the Jets is a better idea.
