Mets “startling” lineup

I’m not sharing this to bust chops or get anyone in “trouble” (jeez I’d hope not) or to stir the pot but I can’t stop chuckling at the email that went out with today’s “startling lineup” as the title.    Again, I make typos and this isn’t “kill the Mets” but it’s a chuckle.

Oh, any advice on how to tell the Mrs. that I’d rather take the free NFL ticket one of my boys just offered me than attend a family (grown-up) birthday party?   Oh, the party is at my house.

Typo fun aside…maybe we could add this to the potential 2011 slogans: “Mets baseball: It’s startling.”

I still like “Man Up and Play Better” – it will work well with Wallyball.

Move On Up, Come On Down « Faith and Fear in Flushing

Some day when MetsPolice is making millions I am going to hire Greg from Faith and Fear to write all the things in my brain that I can only half-explain in two paragraphs.

Here’s a good rant about the ticket prices in Flushing.  Under my Honor Among Bloggers program I will share with you one paragraph and then you’ll go read the rest (it’s really good) but I really wanna post the whole dang thing.

Among the many insults perpetrated by Mets management toward Mets fans this 71-win-and-counting season is the BETTER SEATS LOWER PRICES campaign that pretends you’re being done by a favor by being offered tickets that start at $11. All things considered, eleven dollars for a Major League Baseball game — even a lonely, rainy Mets-Pirates game — seems fair. But the implication in those ads is that’s $11 per ticket (plus service charges and handing fees if you order via phone or Web) for what we, the Mets, consider the worst of our inventory: weeknight games against the lamest team we could find. Implicit in the deal, also, is you will sit as far from the action as we can put you, unless we recognize the folly of our overall pricing scheme and realize it’s kind of silly to isolate you up there.

The Jose Reyes dilemma: How should Mets move forward with shortstop? | SILive.com

SILive brought up that topic that upsets James.  I’m at a soccer game James, just giving you something to read.

Trade Reyes and you’re right: You’ve got yourself a fresh crop of young players to carry the team into the next glory era.

Trade him for the wrong package: No need to tell you that the “Midnight Massacre” of Tom Seaver solidified a period of darkness at Shea Stadium.
