Distractions during the inning

As I continue my travels, a guest comment from Mo who sent this in last homestand…

There’s a “rule” in Citi Field for the fans to not walk down to their section during an at bat. Last night I was sitting at the end of the row next to the aisle in Section 309 in Row 9, and you have to look through the aisle to see home plate.
Constantly through the at bats, fans, vendors, picture people are walking up and down the aisle, and I missed half the of the first two innings(moved to the other side after the second). Row 9 is towards the beginning of the section, so basically anyone going to any row in that section passes by me.
As mentioned above, these people weren’t just fans, they were vendors, and photographers. How are you supposed to enforce a rule, when you have people working for you going against the rule? They say don’t walk through the section during the at-bat but there is no one there to stop them! I was really fed up and frustrated, missing some great and key plays, early on in the game. I think it’s just disgusting how they let people do it, and how they say “don’t walk during the at-bat” but don’t do anything about it.
Thanks for listening,
Mo

Amen.  The vendors especially do not care. My advice – try to get middle of the aisle seats, or try to sit so that the aisle is NOT between you and home.   The parade of people up and down drives me nuts too, I’m with you.

Anger leads to hate, hate leads to empty stadium

Good morning Mets fans.

It’s always weird working on the site when I am on the road because I lose feel for the team. I haven’t seen a game all week or been on Twitter or heard Carton but I can tell from thousands of miles that people are angry and once again the Mets have slipped back into the mode where they are perceived as incompetent fools.

I feel like I should be writing about cleaning house and getting rid of folks like K-Rod…I feel like that type of thing gets written by folks like me and Joel Sherman often. Why is this franchise always a mess?

I kinda wish I could be around more this week to comment as this drama unfolds.

No podcast tonight…too bad because there’s plenty to talk about as always. The next podcast will be next Sunday at 6:30.

Waiting for Wally, catch ya later.
