I’m on Call To The Bullpen tonight

I will be on Call To The Bullpen tonight slightly after 10. If you hate black uniforms, love Lee Mazzilli and want some really generic analysis of tonight’s game – don’t miss it.

Randy’s Mets Jeans

I really love Randy’s blog The Apple. I have met Randy and he’s a really cool dude.

Therefore, out of respect for my fellow blogger and a nice man who sends me blog ideas, I present to you, without comment….Randy’s Jeans.  Click on the pics to make them bigger, you know you want to.

Now let’s be real. You have some embarrassing Mets stuff in your closet too.  Man Up and send in.

Fox’s Citi Field Security Story

I was cleaning up the inbox last night and realized I forgot to get to this one.  I don’t think it got much play around the blogoverse since it was first published into Memorial Day weekend.

In a nutshell, some are saying that it’s easy to sneak into Citi Field’s employee gate, and this Fox reporter says he made it all the way to the field level without being stopped.

If this security hole wasn’t tightened up after the Fox story I bet it will be within the hour, so if you were planning on sneaking in…don’t.  Pay your way….and if you feel like ragging about stadium security there’s another place across town that is ridiculous.

And the 25th manager is…(I think)

We’ve been trying to name the 25 former Mets who managed in the big leagues….Tom wrote this very convincing email..

Shannon,

The one you’re missing (besides the guy who gave you Boyer, #24) is Norm Sherry, a ’63 Met and the manager of the Angels for two seasons in the 70’s. Sherry is also the guy widely credited with helping Koufax finally figure it out, telling Sandy to “slow down” his motion, which became that fabulous delivery we all can still see on video.

Tom

Works for me.   I think Tom is older than I am and he hasn’t lied to me yet, so if punking us with The Norm Sherry Hoax is how Tom has fun…he got me.

By now you guys should know I’m too lazy to look this stuff up.  I’m actually writing this Monday night and my back hurts from staining the deck.  I’m going to sleep.

Boyer is the 24th one, and for the other 23 read here.

The Mets are tied with the Dodgers at 25 for the most in the majors.  I don’t suppose we wanna try and make that list…let’s see Hodges, LaSorda…
