More Hardball’s Mets Mascot Suggestions. I Say Bring Back The Mule!

While More Hardball has some fun suggestions for new Mets mascots…I think they should bring back Mettle the Mule.   Seriously.  Doesn’t a Mule sum up exactly how you feel?

I’m not sure if this actual Mettle or a photshop, but I like this guy.  Can we get him?

Who the hell picked a mule in the 70’s?  Damn this blog would have been awesome in the late 70s.

Picture Of Yankee Stadium Cafe Seating

As I said on Sunday, I’m not going to ignore the Yankees and write generic columns about Joel Youngblood.   (That’s what December is for).    We have our Yankee friend “Mr. Sunshine” (the Yankees can never do wrong) on assignment tonight and here’s what he has sent back.

This is the “Cafe Seating” the NYY’s added….”Cafe” is Latin for stick a plank where the standing room was.

That being said, it’s not awful.  There doesn’t seem to be any plexiglass and you can see the left fielder.

These are the flags blowing out to right.  He also tells me he is cold.  And Mrs. Sunshine’s hat blew away.  I’m on a leather couch drinking a beer, snuggling with a blanket and popped a Sam Adams.  Who’s laughing now?  Oh and the game is in HD.

It’s Sentinels Season At Citi Field

The UFL will be here soon to little acclaim but since they will play (one game) at Citi we should at least pay a little attention, right?

A Sentinel is defined as “one who stands guard”, and the logo for the New York franchise is inspired by the presence of the mythical and real heroes which stand guard to protect the City of New York. The shield represents strength and stability, and the heroic angels reference the imposing scale of its landscape, aspiring upward as a tribute to the overall spirit of New Yorkers.
The UFL’s first game on October 8th will be broadcast on VERSUS at 9:00 pm ET. On Saturday, October 10th, the Florida Tuskers will host the New York Sentinels at the Citrus Bowl. This game will be broadcast on HDNet at 7:00 pm ET. Tickets are still available for both games and can be purchased by calling 877.UFL.2009 or visiting www.ufl-football.com.

You may be wondering what this UFL is…well…

The UFL was developed to fulfill the unmet needs of football fans in major markets currently underserved by professional football by providing a high quality traditional football league comprised of world class professional football players. The UFL will serve the communities with pride, dedication and passion, and uphold a leadership role in the development of football worldwide. The UFL will provide every fan with an affordable, accessible, exciting and entertaining game experience. Scheduled to debut in October 2009, the UFL’s headquarters is in New York, N.Y. and has satellite offices in Jacksonville, Fla. and Rutherford, N.J. The UFL is led by Commissioner Michael Huyghue, COO Frank Vuono and is being funded by a consortium of investors including UFL Founder Bill Hambrecht, Tim Armstrong, Bill Mayer, Paul Pelosi and the Tampa Bay Rays. Jeff Sofka of Bendigo Co. is project director for the UFL’s brand programs. For more information on the UFL and how to purchase tickets for the UFL’s “Premiere” season, please visit www.ufl-football.com. For group ticket sales, please call 877.UFL.2009.

So there ya have it…..oh and here’s how the field will be layed out.

Now what happens when the 2010 Mets go to the World Series and the Sentinels rip up the field on a Wednesday night?
